Somewhere In the
Atlantic . Mar. 15-45
Dear Mama, Daddy + all,
Hello and how are you all, I'm all right, just laying around sleeping. We are on (illegible). I'm not seasick yet, hope it doesn't bother me. My eating worries me as usual, we only get two meals a day, we should have three. I ate breakfast at 12:30 to-day and I'm waiting for supper now.
I got you letter yesterday, sure was glad to get it. Hope it is warm there and the peach crop doesn't get killed, if they get by till after Easter, they'll have a good chance.
Campbell was home on furlough last week, Ask Dick if he saw him with Maggie. Don't guess he went overseas after all.
The band played and the Red Cross gave us doughnuts and coffee when we left, it's a funny thing every time you leave a camp, they always have the band out to see you off.
You should see the pack I carry now, it's three times as big as the one used in training camp but it carries easier, it doesn't hurt you shoulders.
There isn't much to write about, I can't write like I usually do. About all I can say is don't worry I'll be all right; going overseas going overseas doesn't mean that you go straight into combat.
Several of the boys I trained with are still with me, I don't know whether we'll get to stay to-gether or not.
Well, I'll sign off for now. Write all you can and I'll do the same.
Tell all hello
Lots of Love to All,
Bob
