Dearest Mama, Daddy + all,
Hope you all are fine, I'm doing very well, still pulling guard but I'll be off this job and on a different type of guard by Monday, we'll more than likely move about Sunday, sure do hate to leave here. We had a little snow to-day but it's all gone now, wish we could have a big one for a change. Guess you all are looking forward to another crop. Wish I were there to start one for myself, guess I'll be here for sometime yet. Looks like that damn congress would get the combat men home, they could find plenty of replacements. We got sixty new men in Sunday, they seem sort of smart, well they'll learn alot in the next few months. It's not bod over here but hell I want to get back and start my life over again. Eleven months ago I got on the boat, doesn't seem long in one way and then it seems a lifetime. I've had it lucky and haven't worked so hard, but you know me, I won't do anything I can get out of. I checked the C.O. trip ticket last nite, and when he stopped, he said, "What the hell so you want." just kidding. he's a hell of a good man once you get to know him. He never does give me a hard time, and he's had alot of chances to. Well there's not much news so I'll say so long for now. Tell the others I'll write in a day or two if I have time. Will be busy moving. Write all you can and take care of yourselves. Tell all hello.
Lots of love to all,
Bob
