Dear Folks,
Hello, received your letter last nite, sure was glad to hear from you all. We have had it pretty hard out here but it's interesting. We have actual combat problems, such as taking a village on a certain hill. I dug a fox hole to-day and shot at the boys as they came by. We are going to attack B company to nite. Will be out like about 12 o'clock, I've got used to staying out and any old tree is my home.
We move to-morrow about six miles and stay there till next Friday and go back to camp.
They cook our food out here, the whole [Bn.] moved out here, when you go on [ineligible] everybody [ineligible]. I haven't had my clothes off since Sunday and wash and shave after dark. We can't have lights but I crawl under my raincoat and [ineligible]. The weather has been fine, not much rain, a little chilly, in the morning but it really warms up around noon. I am hot now. Tell Fred and [ineligible] I don't have time to write, son;t even write Maggie, wrote her once this week. You all keep writing. It's rumored that we'll get 10 days but I doubt it. Well I have a little over two more weeks and I'll be done. Sure will be glad.
Well, I could write a book, but don't have time, almost time for [chow] and I want to mail this. Tell all hello, Love to all
Bob (over)
don't forget to send the $25.00. I'll need it.
Bob
