Friday Nite,
Dear Mama, Daddy, + all,
Hello, and how are you all, I'm all right, have had it easy this week. I helped work on a bridge to-day and cut poles to floor it with. I'm a good one, join the army to fight and end up washing pots and building bridges.
Received your letter to-day, sure was glad to hear from you, my mail has been scarce lately, I get a letter most everyday from Maggie but that's about all.
Santa Claus was good to you and he was good to me to. I've been eating all the week and still have stuff left.
Maggie said she was sending you a card. I sure appreciate all the things you sent me. The brush + comb set was all right for Bud. Wish I could have seen him with his Xmas tree.
I have been transferred and will report to the new outfit to-morrow. I don't have to go on (ineligible), that's good. I'll be in Co."A". 200th I.T.B. 62nd Regt. Write me there.
You can try to get me out after (ineligible) if you want to, I don't know how you could do it tho. Maybe I could get out to farm. I'll probably be satisfied now that I'm going back on duty, but I wouldn't mind being out. Tell Dad to see what he can do.
How is Fred getting along now? Hope she is doing O.K. She sent me the prettiest watch, I'm so proud of it.
I thought about cutting wood at home to-day, while I was out. I had a pretty good axe and really enjoyed the days work. I must be a pretty good hand, the cal. said he wanted me to help him to-morrow. I've worked with him quite alot and he is a good man to work with.
Well, I'll sign off for this time. didn't aim to shave but I'll have to now. Write soon and tell all hello.
Love to all,
Bob
By the way, I won't be shipping out in three weeks now.
new address.
