Dear Mama, Daddy, + all,
Hello and how are you all. [tear] received your letter yesterday. Was [tear] glad to hear from you. I've wrote [tear] you about three last weeks, the mail may be mixed and that is the reason you aren't getting any letters.
I went to St. Augustine this weekend, it's a pretty town, but there's not much to do. I don't want to go there anymore.
[Hazel?] said Fred was real [tear], why don't you tell me how he is, don't beat around the bush [tear] want to hear exactly how everything is.
I have been made squad leader, I don't like it.
Received my medal last week, they gave [ineligible] with the MI. I may make a good soldier after all.
Well, I'll say so long for this time, until soon. Tell all hello.
Love to all.
Bob.
