The House has been refitted and refurnished throughout, and is replete with all Modern Improvements, including an Electric Annunciator, Two Fine Sample Rooms for Commercial Travelers and is under the management of S.C. Hooker, Late of the Hooker House, Colchester.”

Willimantic, Conn., Sept 4 1886
My Darling
I am in this little old town and cant get away until 825 this “AM” and I arrived here at 5 oclock this “A.M” Just think of it 3 hours to stay here and do not move a man in 2 hundred [wries ?] of this place and dont want to move any I meet a man this A.M who said he was in S.C in 76 under Chamberlain and that was all I wanted to know about him. My darling I will start to see you this PM at about 4 o’clock and will come as fast as I can – think I will be home about Tuesday or Wednesday I am now on my way to “Providence” this is the place where the “Willimatic” Spool Cotton is made I would not live in the north for anything Im almost crazzy to see you Im your own devoted Will
