The two postcards were found with the Hawkins family collection. There is no writing on either postcard. The first postcard depicts the Aquarium and New York Harbor in Manhattan. The second postcard shows a mountain island in the French Broad River called "In the Land of the Sky."
A postcard sent to Alice Crain Hawkins. It is unclear who sent the letter but it can be assumed it was one of her children. It is known that Ansel did not send the postcard as he is mentioned in the note. The postcard depicts Las Plumas on the Western Pacific Railway. It shows the Power House of the GWP Company near Oroville, California. It is unknown what year the postcard was written but the postdate does show it was sent on May 1.
