Clipping from the Greer Citizen issued for Wednesday, August 7, 1985. Printed is a photograph of Jerry Clower with Jackie Howard (left) and Linda Parr (right). The text references the first Greer Family Festival.
Original silver gelatin photograph made into a postcard. Camera was positioned in the street at the corner of Trade and (now) Poinsett, looking toward Main Street. In the center of the photo is the newly-built Greer's First Baptist Church; to the right is the Wood-Mendhall carriage shop; to the left is Drace's photo studio, Thompson Hardware, and the People's store. In the street there are two wagons and horses, a man walking, and an early brass-era automobile—a Cadillac, Buick, or similar touring car from around 1905–1907. One of the wagons is labeled "Greers Furniture," which was located just out of frame to the right.
