The numbers "471" indicated how many miles Greer was from Washington D.C.
The "1" referred to the one building at the Railroad stop

Pencil notes on the back indicate it was borrowed for newspaper reproduction at some point; they appear to be written by Edd Burch of the Greer Citizen.
