Text: Class Reunion - Twenty members of the Mountain View High School (MVHS) Class of 1944 met on May 20 for their 62nd reunion at Ryan's Family Steak House in Greer. Pictured left to right are attendees: (front row) Geraldine T. Lunsford, the Rev. Cohen Arms and Aileen M. Bridgeman; (second row) Nancy H. Butler, Pearlie A Wells, Dorothy F. Reese, Dorcas E. Shelton, Martha Lou T. Roper, Frances H. Crain, Nellie S. Hunter, Martha P. Barbare and Joyce O. Phillips; (third row) Robert Butler, Sue P. Campbell, Dennis Lynn, Palmer Steadman, Laura B. Greene and Frances W. Langley. The group observed a moment of silent prayer in memory of 17 deceased class members. The 52-member Class of '44 was at that time MVHS's largest graduating class in school history. Grace B. Outz served as valedictorian, and Geraldine T. Lunsford was salutatorian. The '44 class plans to meet again at Ryan's in Greer in May 2008.
