GEORGIA CHEMICAL WORKS
If any word were needed to extol the famous FERTILIZER, "Patapsco," we could produce thousands for the asking. But that is not necessary. It is the best known and most sought after fertilizer on the market, and has been so throughout its history of nearly forty years. It is the original fish goods-the oldest and the best.
RECOMMENDATORY-
Your time is too valuable to read testimonials. Our goods are judged and adver-tised by their work. You need only glance at our long creditable record of nearly two score years and be convinced that you are in safe hands when you deal with us. Proof positive!

DIVERSIFICATION AND ITS NET RESULTS.
You can boost the price of cotton by diversifying your crops. This helps to pre-vent over-production and will at the same time make you more independent. You can't afford to rely upon the other fellow to do this. It is poor business to buy your supplies at high prices and pay for them in cheap cotton.
A full corn crib and a well-stocked smoke-house are the finest and safest financial insti-tutions to back cotton growers of the South. There would be no more low priced cotton if this policy were generally followed. Why send your money away to enrich the western farmer when you can keep it yourself?
May advise, but few profit.
Reduced acreage, increased fertilization and better preparation of the soil bring greater returns at a much lower relative cost of pro-duction; which is to say LARGER PROFITS.

Cultivation and Profits
Build up your land permanently by using the best methods and finest materials. These are not always the cheapest, but they are immensely more economical because more lasting in effect. Deep plowing, through cultivation and rotation of crops improve the texture of soils and promote the solubility of plant food in them.
FERTILIZERS give the best results when con-veyed to plants under these favorable conditions.
Our Excelsior Top Dresser, 4-7 1/2-2 1/2, for wheat and oats will pay for itself many times over. As a second application to cotton it has shown won-derful effect. It is better than Nitrate of Soda because it is a completely balanced fertilizer and will develop both plant and fruit at the same time. No artificial stimulation about this. Try it and see.

MASTODON, MASCOT, GEORGIA FORMULA, CARDINAL.
These furnish the best kind of crop insurance with no charge for premium. Cardinal and Mascot as high grade formulas for cotton have no peer. If you have not used them, you have missed a golden opportunity.
Dont stint your land. It is your most valuable friend and if treated genr-ously will not be ungrateful.
Order early and avoid vexatious blockades, annoying alike both to buyer and manufacturer.

SHIPPING FACILITIES UNEQUALLED-
With factories at Augusta, Ga., and Pon Pon, S.C., and storage points in the interior of South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, we sur-pass all other companies in ability to serve the trade promptly. We can fill orders any time and all the time.
By making up our goods far in advance of the selling season, they are dry and well pulverized by shipping time and ready for prompt service. They will easily pass thro' any distributor without clogging. We make a point of this.
TAKE THIS HINT AND COGITATE IT-
The manufacturer or salesman who calls your attention to the low prices of his products has a poor argument to gain your confidence. You can't get high class goods at low grade prices. The best are the cheap-est-but the cheapest are not always the best. Too little study is given to the purchase of fertilizers. Price is the controlling factor with many. No thought is given to value.

RULES FOR FERTILIZATION
cannot be laid down arbitrarily as the chemical composition of soils is so different, but there are some general principles which can be ob-served buy everybody.
Briefly: Nitrogen favors quick growth and forces leaf and stalk. Keeps plan green and healthy.
Phosphoric Acid produces better development of seeds and hastens maturity.
Potash gives strength to the roots and stems, and assists in perfecting the yield of fruit.
The States of Georgia and Alabama require manufacturers to express in their guarantees the percentage of Nitrogen instead of Ammonia. 2% of Ammonia is equivalent to 1.65 of Nitrogen; in other words, 1.65 Nitrogen and 2% Ammonia mean one and the same thing.
1.214-lbs. of Ammonia contain 1 pound of Nitrogen. One pound of Ammonia is equivalent to .82 of a pound of Nitrogen. 14 pounds of Nitrogen unite with 3 pounds Hydrogen to form 17 pounds of Ammonia.
