My dear Audrey,
You surprised one so. Things that appear so indistinct and uncertain at dawn become so clear when the sun climbs higher in the eastern sky.
Marriage is so much like the mountain land scapes. If there is any level [road] at all, it does not last long. It is up or down grade. Which ever it is with you, I feel sure it will be studded with “gems of purest ray serene”. I sincerely, cordially congratulate the-the lucky man who has won your heart. If he has the tact you have, there need be no other ballast to make the boat [aim] study.
I regret so much that an incorrigible [court] will prevent my coming.
May apple blossoms fall soft round you and him, and the ripe fruit of joy be abundantly poured into your young hearts.
The joy of any life is ended but the happiness of knowing the quiet truth of love can never die.
With much love to you and kindest regards to Mr. Edwards, most continually
Cousin Julius
