IN REPLYING REFER TO
NORTH CHARLOTTE, N. C.
October 27, 1914
Mr. C. C. McGowan, Supt.,
Greer Water Works,
Greer, S. C.,
Dear Sir:-
We have still a balance on our books of $208.94 for
lead shipped to the Town of Greer, and this account is nearly
100 days past due. We consider that the terms taken on this
shipment as being out of the ordinary, and we see no reason why
you should not approve this bill for payment, or rather see to it that
the town pays this account. We understand that it is necessary to
have your approval to secure payment from the town, and we must in-
sist upon some action: otherwise, we will have to refer the matter
to our collection agency for attention. No doubt, with your ex-
perience with lead, you realize that as a rule this class of material
is sold for cash only; in fact, we are compelled to accept shipments
bill of lading attached to sight draft, and surely with the close
price that was on this lead, the transaction is anything but
profitable to us.
We hope that you will see fit to give this matter your
immediate attention, and that the matter will be adjusted before next
Saturday.
Very truly yours,
[Illegible signature]
GMM-w We are attaching hereto copy of telegram which authorized this shipment.
