DISTILLERS OF
OLD FASHIONED HAND MADE CORN WHISKEY
CHATTANOOGA, TENN. 2-16-14.
Hon. T. E. Smith, Mayor,
Greer, S. C.
Dear Sir:
Referring to sixteen cases whiskey seized in the Souther
depot on the 2nd day of February by your instructions. Owing
to the fact that these goods were shipped by ourselves, on a
bonafide order from cosignee, ordering such shipments, we
were in no good position to know what disposition was being made
of this goods, and as we had no intention, whatever, of allow-
ing the same to become a detriment to your city, we are entirely
innocent in the matter, and as the loss will fall heavily upon
us, we hereby petition you that you allow the Southern Railway
to return to us, we hereby agreeing to pay all
costs of procedure to date, in the matter.
Trusting that this will meet your approval we are
Very truly yours,
SCOTT PRICE DISTILLERY.
