- Aaron Tippin was born in Florida on July 3, 1958. He was reared on a farm in Blue Ridge above Greer, and today lives on a 500-acre farm in Tennessee. He moved to Nashville in 1986 to become a writer for Acuff-Rose. In 1990, his hit song "You've Got to Stand for Something" made him a major country music star.
