Biographical Text: Worth Barnett, a native of Chesnee, South Carolina, was mayor of Greer from 1967 to 1979. The owner of Barnett Auto Supply, he first served as councilman for the 1955-1959 term and again from 1961 to 1966. The Worth Barnett Overpass on South Main Street over the Southern Railroad tracks was dedicated in his honor in 1986. He died in 1998.
