Leo Cloninger opened Cloninger's Motors, a Buick dealership in 1956 on East Wade Hampton Boulevard. Mr. Cloninger also sold camping trailers. A decade after World War II, Americans were hitting the road with campers, which offered a new way for the family to vacation.
