Biographical Text: Son of R. M. Hughes, Dr. Hughes was a 1931 graduate of Furman University and a 1935 graduate of Emory University Medical School.
He and Dr. T. O. Walker had a medical office on South Main Street. After some years in private practice, he became the medical director of Springs Industries in Lancaster but returned to Greer for his retirement years.
