- Brothers Robert and I.B. Dobson began a large agribusiness with 100 acres each given to them by their father. The Dobson brothers also owned a fertilizer company and operated a cotton gin. The next generation-Leonard, Roy, Clyde, Connie, and Lawrence-continued the operation, increasing its size. Clyde Dobson was well known for his peach orchards near Greer.
