Description: This is an important postcard as it holds one of the few and earliest known "Greer's Depot" postmarks. The first post office was located in the original train depot, which was a Southern Railroad depot at this time. When the town incorporated "Depot" was dropped (as reflected in the writing on the back of the postcard), but the Post Office continued to use it until they moved into their own location between 1900 and 1905.
