Dear Don,
It certainly has been a long time since we have seen or heard from each other. I am glad to hear that you are doing so well.
I have finished my first year at Duke University. I know Brent Harrison very well.
I am currently unemployed. Jobs are pretty hard to get around here. I am sorry to hear that you are in the same situation.
Some time this summer I would like to come back to Greer and renew all those old acquaintances I now so vaguely remember.
I would be more than happy for you to come down here but I would rather come down to visit Greer. I would appreciate it if you would drop me a line about when I could come down and see you.
I am sorry that I took so long in answering your letter. As you probably have already noticed my hand writing hasn’t improved any. I believe it has gotten worse than ever.
There is very little to fill you in on since I left Greer. It’s pretty hard to express what has transpired since then in a letter; therefore, I would like very much to meet with you and talk over “ole times.” So please write me soon, so I can come down and spend the day with you.
I guess that’s all for now, Don. I [sic] looking forward with much pleasure at seeing you again.
Sincerely yours,
Jerry Wilhinson
