Dear Don,
How are you getting along. Fine, I hope. I guess your exams are just about over, aren’t they? Sure hope you pass all of them okay. But I know you will, though.
Boy, the weather sure is getting nice up here. The beach was really crowded last Saturday. I couldn’t find anything else to do, so I stayed down there all afternoon. Then came back to the drive-in (I was with a friend in his car). You serve get your money’s worth here. The show started at 7:30 p.m. and ended at 2:30 a.m. There were 3 feature length movies and 9 or 10 cartoons. I slept till almost 10:00 a.m. that morning. I don’t think I’ll try staying up that late anymore.
I am going to Salisbury, N.C. next weekend (June 6-7) with a friendwho was with me in basic to help him bring his car back up here. I’ll be within 130 miles of home but I don’t guess I will make it down there. Should get there between 7 and 9 a.m. Saturday morning and leave about 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
Don, I plan to come after my car as soon as it is repaired. If you could wait till it is fixed to come up here why don’t you. You could help me drive it up here. But if you have made plans to come before then, come on anytime. I will be glad to see you anytime.
I hope you will excuse this crummy writing. I am lying on my bund and between the blankets scratching me and the cramped position I am in, it is not easy to write.
Had I told you I had started to school? I have been going a little over a week now. The class is eight hours 7:30-11:30 A.M, 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Well this is a holiday weekend. There is no training Friday, but this is alert weekend in this company. Since it is a holiday only 25% stay. Guess who was in that 25%? But is just as well, I’m broke. I couldn’t go anywhere anyway.
Well, lights out in 15 minutes so I’ll close for now. Hope you will forgive me for not writing more the last two weeks, but I’ve had quite a time getting used to my change in schedule. For a few days I couldn’t do anything. Well, so long for now. Write when you can. I’m always glad to hear from you.
Your friend always
