Hi Don, I hope you are doing O.K. As for me, I’m still tired from K.P. Monday. Not, it really wasn’t that bad, but I worked from 5 A.M. until 7:15 P.M. without stopping except to eat. I hope you will forgive me for not writing last week. It seemed like everything went wrong and everytime I started to write something happened. And as if that wasn’t enough, I lost my pen last evening during physical training. I’m so near broke, it will probably be the first of the month before I will buy another. Well I know have been in “Uncle Sam’s” grip for 4 months and I got a slight promotion. This was automatic, but it is a little over ten dollars a month raise. I might make P.F.C in four more months (I hope). Well, I started school Wednesday, and I sure am glad. I was getting bored just sitting around. You know I told you that I wouldn’t start until June 17. There wasn’t enough to make up a class now so they moved a few of us up. I leave for school about 7 A.M. and march about 1.2 miles to class and back in the afternoon. I get a ride to and from the company at lunch time, because we don’t have long enough off to walk..
Don, I am trying to make arrangements to get my car fixed and if I do, I am coming home one weekend the first of July to get it. There is a boy in my company who lives in Easley, and I can get a ride with him.
About the tapes I have one now and as soon as I can get to the P.O. to see how much the postage is, I will get it on the way. It probably sounds pretty silly, but what could expect from me?! It is a 3 in reed at 3 ¾ l.p.s. There is over 15 minutes on it. Well, they said to put the lights out about 10 mins. Ago, and news is short, so I’ll close for now.
Adios amigo
Fred.
