Dearest Don;
Papa and I want to thank you for your very generous Chrisrtmas gift to us. I feel like a creeping worm. Every one was so kind, and thoughtful of us and we were not able to do a think for Christmas.
Papa go up this morning and decided he wanted to be dressed in his street clothes. He said after three months he was tired of pyjamas and robe. It was rather like trying to dress a rag doll, he is so weak he can hardly do anything for himself. I still give him light feedings five times a day. With luck he will retain most of them most of the time I have to follow up the feedings with a mop, since he suffers so much from nausea.
I was so sorry I missed part of your visit. I hoped so much you and your dear Daddy would get down again while Charlie & Rosalie were here. I feel I had to take advantage of the opportunity to see some of my tenants at the farm. With fondest love to you and your father I am,
Grandmother
