Greenville, S. C., ____________________ 1899.
The following Deed of Conveyance from Jonathan Floid to Robert Embre being proven before Robert Barrett, Esq. by the oath Willey S. Brown was presented & recorded this the 18th day of February 1801 State of South Carolina
Know All Men By These Presents that I, Jonahtan Floid of Madison County State of Kentucky in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds to me paid by Robert Embre of Spartanburg County and State aforesaid have granted bargained sold & released and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and release unto the said Robert Embre a plantation or tract of land lying and being in Greenville County, on the waters of Pacolate River; beginning at a pine Charles Whitten's corner, thence by an agreed line to Thomas Maxwell's line; a stake thence along Maxell's line to an agreed line, thence along an agreed line to a pine, thence to an hickory, thence to the beginning; containing one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less, it being a part of a tract of land granted by patent unto William Easley bearing date 1793 and by him conveyed to me.
Together withal and singular the rights, members, hereditainments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining.
To Have And To Hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Robert Embre, his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, Executors & administrators to warrant & forever defend all & singular the said premises unto the said Robert Embre, his heirs and assigns, against myself, and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or the claim the same or any part thereof.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th August 1797 and Twenty first year of American Independence
