the State of South Carolina
know all men by these presents that I George Ward of Greenville Destrict And State aforesaid in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and fifty Dollars to me paid John Ward of the District and State aforesaid have granted bargained Sold and released and by these presents Do grant bargain sell and release unto the Said John Ward A Certain tract or parcel of land Situate in greenvill Destrict On the heads of the Slick rock branch being part of a tract of land granted to Robert Smith patent bearing Date the Seventwenth Day of September AD 1793 Beginning at a Spanish oak Corner running thence N 45 W 25 Chains to a hickory by DogWood thence N 70 E thence along said line to a Chesnut Corner a Conditional Corner agree on by said Richard And Jonathan thence a conditional line across to tract of land till it striked the lower line Next to the fall branch to a Chesnut oak a Conditional Corner agree on byd Richard and Jonathan thence S 75 W to the begining Containing one Hundred and ninety four acres more or less together With all and singular the rights members Hereditaments and appertenances to the [???] Belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the primesces Also unto the said John Ward his heirs and assigns for Ever and I do hereby bind my Self my heirs Excutors and administrators to warrant and for Ever defend all and singular the premises as sd unto the said John Ward his heirs and assigns against my Self my heirs Excutors and ministrators or assigns And against all and singular the claim of Every other person or persons w/omesoever lawfully Claiming or to Claim the same or any part therrof Witness my hand and seal this four tweenth March in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty seven signed sealed and acknowleaged in presents
