10TH ANNUAL SOUTH CAROLINA PEACH FESTIVAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Tournament Committee: Bill Perry, Clarence "Shorty" Woodward, Carl Gibson, Bill Richardson, Bob Williams, Charles McBride, Hack Botts, Mickey Beckham
At our meeting held April 6, there were several decisions and assignments made that should be recorded for the information of all of you. The date of the Tournament was established for Wednesday, June 8, 1966, starting at 8:30 a. m. It was decided that in the event of rain. the Tournament would be played on Thursday.
Prize money established for the professionals was:
1st prize $200
2nd prize $125
3rd prize $75
The amateur prizes, in the form of gift certificates for merchandise at the Pro Shop, were established as follows:
1st prize $100 gift certificate
2nd prize $60 gift certificate
3rd prize $45 gift certificate
4th prize $35 gift certificate
5th prize $25 gift certificate
There was discussion about special prizes for a "hole in one" on any particular par 3 hole, and Mr. Richardson and Mr. Gibson were to provide sponsors for this.
The first mailing of the Tournament notice circulars and registration certificates was to take place during the week of April 18. This has been accomplished. The following are the individual assignments for the day of the Tournament, and all necessary preceding arrangements.
Bill Perry
1. Will be responsible for all refreshments, including facilities for lunch and beverages, and coolers for the course during the Tournament.
2. Will handle the registration of all entries by mail or other, which are being referred to your attention in care of the Greer Golf and County Club.
3. Will be responsible for preparing a list of ground rules, to apply the day of the Tournament, in sufficient quantity to supply each foursome with a copy.
4. See that all necessary score sheets and score cards are available for the day of the Tournament.

Shorty Woodward
As in previous years, will handle the starters table and be responsible for the recording of all scores. You will arrange for any assistance you may need.
Carl Gibson
1. Responsible for a tent or canopy to be erected in the starting area. [stricken out]
2. Arrange with the Greer Civil Defense Unit to assist with the parking of automobiles during the Tournament. This assistance should begin at 8:00 a. m. on the day of the Tournament.
Bob Williams [stricken out] - Key Club - OK
Will make the necessary contacts to secure caddies for the Tournament. A recommendation was made that it may be possible to secure some help on this through Phil Clark at the High School or by investigating the use of students from Miracle Hill.
Bill Richardson [stricken out]
Secure trophy for presentation to Tournament winner. [stricken out]
Charles McBride
Will be responsible for provision of gift certificates and prize money to be presented to winners at close of Tournament. and secure Trophy
Mickey Beckham
Will have all material prepared in sufficient quantity for two mailings to all likely county clubs in the Carolinas and Georgia. This mailings will include the announcement letter, posters, and registration blanks. The first mailing has been sent, and the second mailing should go approximately May 18.
Since we have 18 holes to play over this year, it was felt that we did not have to put a limit on the number of entries. The entry fee will continue to be $10 for professionals and $5 for amateurs.
In case I have forgotten anything, or if there is any disagreement in the above assignments, please call me immediately.
