Mrs. McHugh
Mrs. Dobson
Mrs. McClimon
One of the loveliest affairs of recent date took place at the home of Mrs. R. P. Turner when the Music Club of Greer celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of its organization with a special meeting to which a number of federation officials were invited. Seen here gathered around the birthday table are officers of the club with Mrs. F. G. James, charter member of the organization who cut the cake and who also prepared and read a paper on the history of the club at the meeting. Reading from left to right they are: Mrs. O. G. Wood, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Wm. B. Smith, second vice-president; Mrs. F. G. James, first vice-president; Mrs. James A. McHugh, recording secretary; Mrs. E. D. Dobson, president; and Mrs. J. S. McClimon, treasurer. In connection with the anniversary celebration the club also observed federation day with Mrs. John H. Bateman, member of the board from South Carolina of the National Federation of Music Clubs as speaker. Mrs. Robert I. Woodside, former member of the board, and, with Mrs. Bateman, an honorary president of the South Carolina Federation, brought greetings to the Greer club. She was present at the organization meeting. Others present from Greenville were Mrs. W. R. Riley, on the executive board of the South Carolina Federation, and Miss Nell Adams. The late Mrs. Leila Cunningham was the first president of the Greer Music Club. Also at the meeting were former presidents and charter members and it was a most enjoyable and notable occasion.–Staff photo by Jim Collins.
