The Greer Music club holding its first meeting of the club year, on Wednesday afternoon, was favored with a delightful organ recital rendered by Miss Frances McHill, senior at Westminster Choir college, of Princeton, New Jersey. Miss McGill is now spending her vacation with her parents, the Rev. F. T. McGill, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Greer and Mrs. McGill. The organ recital was held at the First Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Paul Bull, president of the Greer Music club, presided over the afternoon’s program and introduced Mrs. F. G. James, who presented Miss McGill. Miss McGill rendered the following program:
“Toccatta in C Major”... J. S. Bach
“Herlich Fhut Mit Verlangen”... J. S. Bach
“Largo”... Handel
“Andante Cantabile” Tschaikowksky
“Aandante” (Grande Piece Symphonique)... Cisar Franck
“Toccata” (Fifth Organ Symphony)... Widor
Mrs. C. R. Ballenger, with associate hostesses, Mrs. F. T. McGill, Miss Kate Wheeler, and Miss Mary Bailer, was hostess to the club and following the organ recital at the church, a business program was held at Mrs. Ballenger’s lovely home on North Main Street.
A social hour followed the business and delightful refreshments were served by the hostesses.
