1882 BETHEL METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Bethel United Methodist CHurch organized by Rev. Benjamin Robinson & these families: Butler, Greer, Mayfield, & Davis
1883 ST. MARCUS AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Church dedicated building on site where Maple Creek now stands. In 1891 the church lost the property to foreclosure and moved.

L. Jackson Green, owner of Greer Lumber Company, sold the lot and building materials to the church. The name of Greentown comes from this family.
