Dear friend:-
Another long rainy Sunday has come - and gone, bringing -as usual, the attendant dullness which often characterizes them.
But however, near the close of today I find great pleasure in replying to your very much appreciated letter which was received -a few -days since.
You seem to calumniate me for my circumlocution regarding snow-falling.
Of course 'twould have been real nice indeed, to have had a triumph over you in a snow-battle, although snow balling would have been a matter of minor importance where there would have been _one_ so fascinating, intuitive, and eligible for an entertainer.
Doubtless I would have been vanquished but feel confident that you would show the utmost hospitality to one who was either suffering or wounded.
Accept a cordial invitation to a "peek" into my academy. I would feel highly honored to have you call, just give me warning and I will have everything in trim for a reception.
I attend an occasional sociable - Have an invitation to a "Valentine Drawing" on the night of Feb 14 and have had some lovely times in general of late times. Allow me to extend my invitation to Mon Ami on the Reedy. I know you do enjoy your visits to the mountains. It is so rejuvenating, and you have just enough of romance in your nature to make a visit lively.
By the way I'm contemplating a "trip" in the not distant future; and anticipate unspeakable pleasure.
Hoping to hear from you soon, I am as ever
Yours of course
Earle.
