Belle Smith
CAMPOBELLO - Belle Anderson Smith, 98, of Route 2, Macedonia Road, died Oct. 30, 1987.
She was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving are five sons, Harold Smith, Otto Smith, Bruce Smith, and Marion Smith, all of Landrum, and Louis Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; and two daughters, Bernice Green and Alice Turner, both of Campobello.
Services: 3 p.m. Sunday at Liberty United Methodist Church with Burial in the church cemetery.
Vistiation: 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Petty Funeral Home, Landrum.
The family is at the home of Marion Smith, Highway 14, Landrum
J.D. Smith
CAMPOBELLO- J.D. (Joe) Smith, 93, of Campobello Route 2, died Sat. July 21, 1962 at 6:30 p.m. at his home after three years of declining health and a serious illness of three weeks.
Mr. Smith was born and reared in McDowell County, N.C., the son of the late James R. and Lettie Blackwell Smith. He was a member of the Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church.
His first marriage was to Anna Smith. Surviving from this union is one daughter, Lathia Candler of Knoxville, Tenn.
His second marriage was to Mrs. Belle Anderson Smith, who survives.
Surviving from this union are: two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Green and Mrs. Alice Turner, both of Campobello Route 2; seven sons, Golie of Oakland, Calif., Harold, Otto, Bruce, and Marion, all of Landrum Route 2, Sgt. J. D. Smith of Charleston Air Force Base and J. Louis Smith of Spartanburg; 35 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 4 p.m. at Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church by the Revs. C.C. Parker and James Freeman. Burial will be in Liberty Methodist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Wayne, Melvin and Joe Dean Smith, Carl Harris, Kiffin Nanny and Thomas Hammet Jr. - Relation
