Water Ground Meal Still Supreme.
J.D. Smith, 82-year-old farmer of the Ebenezer community, in upper Greenville County, believes what many another old-timer does about corn meal, and built this water-powered corn mill years ago on Beaver Dam Creek near New Liberty Methodist Church. Most of the equipment is homemade. Mr. Smith has a big turbine but sticks to the old water wheel because it uses less water. Production figures are a big secret.
